Stars out for Secret Of Moonacre
Dakota Blue Richards and Natascha Mcelhone got a dose of typical British weather at the rainy London premiere of their new fantasy adventure The Secret Of Moonacre.
Having made the Golden Compass with Nicole Kidman in 2007, Dakota revealed how she'd gone into her second major film role feeling slightly more relaxed.
"I felt more confident definitely when we started," she explained "It was a completely different audition process so there wasn't that build-up. I actually got the script, learned the lines, auditioned and got the part in the same day so it all happened very quickly."
But the 14 year old joked she didn't find shooting in Hungary quite as easy.
"It was horrible! When it was hot it was boiling, I was sitting there with my corset on thinking I was going to melt and then when it was cold it was absolutely freezing and pouring down with rain and I was ill for half the shoot because I caught a cold!"
Californication's Natascha said she'd wanted to do the movie to impress her children.
"Doing something that my kids could actually go and see for once was really nice," she explained.
Natascha confessed that she hadn't heard of The Little White Horse prior to making the film, the novel on which the movie is based.
"I was not familiar with the book, I'm embarrassed to say I didn't actually read a book until I was about 13 so I bypassed it!" she said.
:: The Secret Of Moonacre is out in cinemas on February 6.
